Francese che ha servito anche per il match, ma l’azzurro ha disputato un game perfetto e ha strappato la battuta.
Non riesce l’impresa invece ad Andreas Seppi, sconfitto in due set, doppio 6-3, da Rafa Nadal. Tutto facile per Andy Murray, che liquida Juan Monaco. La testa di serie numero 2 agli ottavi troverà proprio Fognini. Avanzano anche David Goffin e Gilles Simon.
