Per la quarta volta consecutiva il tasmaniano della BMC ha conquistato il traguardo di William Hill precedendo di venti secondi un quartetto regolato da Nathan Haas (Dimension Data), Jhoan Esteban Chaves (Orica – Scott) e il nostro Diego Ulissi (UAD).

Con questo successo Richie Porte conquista per la prima volta in carriera il Tour Down Under precedendo di 48 secondi il colombiano Jhoan Esteban Chaves e l’australiano Nathan Haas. Quinto posto per il migliore italiano Diego Ulissi.
