Il match che aprirà questo turno sarà quello tra l’Exeter (squadra militante in League Two) e il Liverpool di Jurgen Klopp. L’attuale capolista della Premier League, l’Arsenal, ospiterà il Sunderland di Sam Allardyce, mentre il Leicester di Claudio Ranieri andrà nella difficile trasferta del White Hart Lane contro il Tottenham.
